Dr Kai Syng Tan has exhibited (dOCUMENTA, Guangzhou Triennale, transmediale, Biennale of Sydney, ICA, New York Film Anthology at MOMA, 27th South East Asian Games, Centre Georges Pompidou), curated (Cinema South Festival, Delhi International Film Festival), taught/written curricula/visited (RCA; LCC; ANU), advised (National Arts Council; Media Development Authority), and picked up awards (SFIFF Golden Gate Merit Award, Japan Foundation Artist-in-Residency Award; Artangel Open 100 shortlist).
This work is part of RUN RUN RUN! (co-founded with Dr Alan Latham, UCL Geography), a series of academic and artistic activities that explores running beyond the mundane. This arose from her Fine Art PhD, which was conducted at the Slade as a UCL scholar. Recent events include the critically-acclaimed RUN RUN RUN! An International Festival of Running 1.0. Kai now works as a Junior Research Fellow at Leeds College of Art.
